Serving Farmington Hills, MI

If you are in the market for a crossover SUV, you will not be disappointed by the selection offered by Volkswagen. The Volkswagen lineup kicks off with the 2022 Taos crossover, a subcompact model. At the other end of the spectrum, you will find the Atlas. The Atlas is a three-row, midsize SUV. Before you pick out your next SUV from our large selection at Suburban Volkswagen of Farmington Hills, we invite you to take a closer look at the differences between the 2022 Volkswagen Taos and the 2022 Atlas.

Performance

The 2022 Taos is offered in three trim levels. All receive 158 horsepower from a 1.5-liter turbo, four-cylinder engine. If you opt for the front-wheel drive version, your Taos will have an eight-speed auto transmission. The all-wheel drive version comes with a seven-speed dual-clutch auto transmission. The 2022 Atlas, on the other hand, has two engine options. These include a 235-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbo, four-cylinder engine, and a 276-horsepower, 3.6-liter, V6 engine. Depending on the trim selected, the Atlas is offered with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Appearance

The Taos is a small vehicle with an athletic personality. It boasts a smooth, tapered hood with a raked roof. The sides have upper and lower accent bars with thin body molding. The slender grille rounds outward on the nose to connect with wide, pointed headlights. The lower fascia is edgy, with large air vents flanking a black bumper. The Atlas has a taller yet tapered hood and roof. The sides show a pinstripe accent that rounds over the fenders and across the panels. The lower-body molding is thicker and flows from bumper to bumper. While the front-end design is similar, the grille has chrome horizontal bars. The headlights have dual-elemental LED light bars.

Features

Across both the Taos and the Atlas, you will find equipment like ambient interior lighting, leather material, a premium audio system, a navigation system, smart device app connectivity, wireless smartphone charging, assistive safety technologies, heated front seats, remote engine start and more. The Atlas adds a third row of seating and a few other features. These include a more advanced sound system, heated seats in the second row, an automated parking system, a 360-degree camera, and a few other extras.
