In 2021, the Volkswagen Jetta is equipped with a turbo 1.4-liter, four-cylinder engine, which produces 147 horsepower. In 2022, the Jetta receives 158 horsepower from a turbo 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. You can choose between a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed auto transmission on select trim levels for both model years.


You will also notice exterior design differences when you review the 2021 and 2022 Jetta next to each other. Specifically, the 2022 version has reshaped bumpers at the front and rear. It also has a redesigned grille. The design includes a divided, chrome-outlined grille with a hexagonal shape. It trends directly outward to link with the LED-outlined headlights.
